About the New School of Lancaster, PA
The New School of Lancaster is a private, independent, Montessori school serving children ages 20 months through eighth grade. Located in historic Lancaster Pennsylvania, we provide a nurturing atmosphere that enables children to develop a love of learning.
Our commitment is to children. We focus on the whole child by recognizing each child’s individual needs. Our staff appreciates differences in children and nurtures their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social development in a respectful and caring environment. We guide students to challenge and develop themselves and to value learning as an exciting part of life.
Inspired by the work of Dr. Maria Montessori, we believe that children have an innate ability to learn from their surroundings. Our environment encourages students to explore, question, and perfect their skills. Classroom materials designed by Dr. Montessori capture the children’s natural curiosity, and caring, committed teachers use that spark of interest to guide their growth and learning into skill and competence.
