Welcome from the Head of the School
Welcome to The New School of Lancaster. We hope that this electronic portal to our school gives you, the Reader, some sense of the many ways our community represents a “dynamic partnership of children, parents, teachers, and administrators”.
This September, our school celebrates 20 years of dedication to providing “an outstanding Montessori education”. The challenges, adventures, successes, and opportunities have changed over the years, but the adventure remains fresh. We were founded by a passionate group of parents and teachers and we have become a community of founders, veterans, and brand new members, with an enrollment of over 260 students. Our brand new members range in age from 20 months to over 40 years old and it is our belief, hope and commitment that each and all are welcomed to join in the journey. Our mission directs us to “facilitate the unfolding of each child’s unique potential” and our experience tells us that both children and adults are engaged in a continuous process of unfolding.
We are dedicated to academic excellence and we are certain that supporting growth of the whole child, emotionally, intellectually, socially, and spiritually nourishes the ground in which that excellence can flourish. We treasure the interactions among our students from toddlers to early teens, certain that each one of us, both younger and older, benefits from the relationships that are fostered in this special home of our own.

Each new visitor, student, or parent challenges us to fresh responses. The many new members, who have made our community what it is today, genuinely keep us “still new after 20 years.”
