Metro Bank Contributes $10,000 to The New School of Lancaster

October 12, 2011

Metro Bank today announced it has donated $10,000 to The New School of Lancaster. The New School of Lancaster, which cultivates experiential learning, individual responsibility and global respect, is fully-accredited by The American Montessori Society, and serves children ages 20 months through eighth grade.

The New School will use Metro Bank’s contribution to provide tuition assistance for students.  The donation is part of Metro Bank’s educational outreach efforts. “We are so grateful to Metro Bank for partnering with us in the PA Educational Tax Credit Program,” said Development Director Cynthia Charles-Eder. “Thanks to donations like these, students who might not otherwise be afforded the opportunity to benefit from a New School education can now do so.”

“One way Metro Bank supports the community is through contributions to schools and educational organizations,” said Metro Bank Store Manager Tim Keyes.  “It’s our pleasure to provide the New School of Lancaster with this gift.”

Metro Bank, which opened its first location in Camp Hill, Pa., in 1985, pioneered industry-changing conveniences in Central Pennsylvania including seven-day branch banking, free personal checking, free coin counting and use of a prototype store design.
