Regular attendance is important for the continuity of the child’s development, but parents should keep their children home for a rash, or discharge from eyes, ears or nose, or any other signs of illness. A child who has vomited, diarrhea or runs a fever in the last 24 hours should not come to school. Students may return to school 24 hours after fever has resolved without fever-reducing medication.

Please notify the school by emailing when your child will be absent for any reason. To protect all children attending school, anyone with visible symptoms of what appears to be a contagious condition will be sent home. In the case of a chronic ailment, it is necessary to obtain a doctor’s statement establishing the non-contagious nature of the ailment. Any other important information regarding the child’s health – special need, allergies, etc. — should also be submitted in writing to the office.
