MARIA’S TABLE: FUNDRAISER AND COMMUNITY GATHERING

Each year, the New School Family Association (NSFA) hosts an annual spring fundraiser lovingly titled Maria’s Table in honor of Maria Montessori, founder of the educational philosophy here at The New School of Lancaster. Maria’s Table is the school’s largest fundraiser and community gathering and includes dinner, live and silent auctions and the ability to participate remotely from your mobile device. Last year we had close to 150 guests come together as a community and raise over $38,000!  None of this would be possible without the NSFA and their team of committed volunteers.

This year we will gather on Friday, February 22nd, 2019 – once again at the Emerald Foundation – and hope to welcome more guests and bring in more sponsors and items to auction. Our goals – celebrating our community while raising crucial funds – could not be more important.

Maria’s Table provides financial resources that help us take our mission further and deeper. We rely on the impact of this event to provide updated materials, revitalized classroom spaces, updated technology, current research-based faculty training and school-wide curriculums like the reading curriculum we launched at the beginning of this year.

We aspire for full participation and provide a number of ways for you to do so. For those who are able, we want to see you at the event. We have found that newer families are often hesitant to come. Please know that purchasing a ticket and attending is a big deal in and of itself.  If you are curious about what to expect, please reach out.  We would love the opportunity to share with you why your presence is valued.

We hope many will donate one or more items and experiences or volunteer time to help classrooms create items for auction.  We hope many will participate in the Silent or Live Auctions. There are many items to bid on, ranging from stocking stuffers, to classroom collaborative art, to weeklong getaways in faraway places. For those who have never been to an event like this, please do not let the auction intimidate. Come, sit back, enjoy and get to know other parents in a way that carline does not permit.  If you are able, consider supporting our Teacher Ticket Fund, helping us welcome, see and thank those who make magic happen every day in our classrooms.

Finally, we would love to talk to those interested about our four levels of sponsorship and how they can support your business while supporting our work. Please reach out to schedule a phone call or face-to-face meeting.

We are deeply committed to making a difference, for every student at The New School and in the broader Lancaster community. Please reach out to me if you have any questions about Maria’s Table, and how you or your organization can help make a bigger impact in our community. Your contribution to Maria’s Table helps bring this vision many steps closer to reality. Thank you.
