The New School Montessori

The mission of New School Montessori is to facilitate the unfolding of each child’s unique potential through an outstanding education in a peaceful atmosphere of respect and acceptance among children and adults. We enable children to meet future challenges and encourage a love of learning, independent thinking, social responsibility, and individuality.

Spanning three campuses, New School Montessori offers a non-denominational Montessori education in a respectful and caring environment. Our Lancaster City Campus is located in a light-filled, historic space in Lancaster City. Our students range from infant to middle school age, coming from all parts of Lancaster County and beyond. Students enjoy our natural playground which was specifically designed to mimic nature. Close to home, our Manheim Township Campus is situated on the spacious grounds of St. Thomas’s Episcopal Church. Our students range from ages birth to kindergarten and enjoy the quiet setting with scenic views and an abundance of playspace. Our newly renovated downtown Lancaster location at 24 N. Lime Street provides a learning community for students Infants through Kindergarten.  This site will open September 2024.

For over 30 years, we have filled a niche in the community for families who seek an excellent, non-denominational, educational opportunity in a child-centered, nurturing environment. We opened in September 1990 with 64 students. Today we enroll over 250 students, infants through 8th grade, across three campuses. This extraordinary growth has been possible because of the enthusiasm, dedication, trust, positive attitude, and hard work of the faculty and staff, parents, and the Board of Trustees. Their ongoing commitment enables our school to flourish. We continue to serve the needs of our community, enabling our students access to Montessori excellence.
