Camps are held at 935 Columbia Avenue
Please note that there is no camp on Friday, June 19th and June 29 – July 3, 2026.
The New School strives to provide a safe environment for our entire community. At no time is that focus more relevant than it is right now. The safety and health of our students, faculty, staff, and families will lead how, when, and where we operate. So what does that mean for you and your child?
Summer Camp will open on June 12th, 2023. Staffers and administrators will be operating according to our health and safety plan developed in accordance with the Johns Hopkins University, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and the CDC’s guidance for Youth and Summer Camps. It will be revisited and revised before camp starts as additional information and guidance become available. Using this modified hierarchy of controls, COVID-19 mitigation measures at the New School will look like:
- Check-in
Upon entry, campers will be led to our handwashing stations to wash hands. - Physical Distancing
We have visual reminders for students to remember physical distancing. We limit communal use, allow for physical distancing, and accommodate frequent surface cleaning. - PPE
All students (age two and up) and staff are required to wear masks. - Outdoor Activity
In line with our established pedagogy, we will prioritize outdoor programming to afford the lowest risk of transmission. - Engineering Controls
High-touch surfaces such as door handles, light switches, and faucets will be cleaned and disinfected frequently. Additionally, tabletops will be disinfected between classroom rotations. Handwashing breaks and extra hand sanitizer will be available at all times. - Administrative Controls
We are capping classrooms to reduce contact between groups of students and staff as well as students and students. Wherever possible, we will be staggering staff and administrative hours and workspaces to minimize contacts between classrooms. - Any suspected COVID-19 cases will be immediately isolated, and all families will be notified of possible exposure.
In such a case, we will seek additional guidance from local health officials to determine the course of action.
Our traditional summer enrollments will allow us to accommodate physical distancing requirements. We can provide an incredible, developmentally appropriate space for your child to engage socially in a safe way.

Summer is a great time for children to explore the world around them, experience the joy of self-discovery, and enjoy a variety of age-appropriate activities geared towards their individual needs and interests. Your child will experience our outdoor environment and all it has to offer!
We combine the best of Montessori—love of learning, free choice, independence, mutual respect, and hands on learning—with the charms that only the summer can afford—plenty of sprinkler and water fun, outdoor games, nature walks, gardening, fantasy play, arts and crafts, cooking, and science experiments. Your child will develop real life skills through play, improve motor, language, and socialization skills, and continue their personal path of growth.
Our Summer Camp starts on Monday, June 8 and ends on Friday, August 28, 2026. Consistency is important to the social, emotional, and cognitive development of babies and young children. Therefore we ask Toddler Students to attend a minimum of 2 consecutive weeks to ensure an adequate adjustment period.

New School Montessori is excited to offer our Elementary Soccer Camp, a program designed to introduce younger players to the game in a supportive, engaging, and joy-filled environment. Rooted in our commitment to whole-child development, this camp blends skill-building with collaboration, confidence, and a love of movement. Campers will explore the fundamentals of soccer, including basic game concepts, positions, and skills such as dribbling, passing, and shooting, all through age-appropriate games and activities. Each day provides opportunities to build coordination, practice teamwork, and form meaningful connections with peers while enjoying time on the field.
The camp is led by Coach Ryan, a former University of Valley Forge player, who brings energy and experience to the program. Under his guidance, children are supported in a positive and encouraging atmosphere where they can grow at their own pace, regardless of prior experience.
Don’t miss out, sign up today and watch your child shine on the field!

Art Camp offers a rich, hands-on exploration of a variety of artistic mediums, inviting children to develop both skill and creativity.
Campers will work with acrylic paints to create diverse paintings inspired by different subjects, while also building drawing skills through the use of materials such as charcoal and pastel, with a focus on technique, shading, and observation. The experience extends into fiber arts with tapestry weaving, where children learn foundational techniques and design their own woven pieces.
In glass fusing, campers will create small decorative items like magnets and pendants by arranging glass into thoughtful compositions. Ceramics rounds out the experience, with opportunities to explore handbuilding techniques, from pinch pots and wall hangings to more advanced projects such as mugs and imaginative fairy or gnome houses.
Together, these offerings create a well-rounded, engaging environment that nurtures artistic expression and craftsmanship.
Each week will be dedicated to certain grade levels. Please be sure to select weeks that align with your child’s grade for the upcoming 2026-27 School Year.

New School Montessori is excited to offer our Elementary Theater Camp, an immersive and creative experience that introduces children to the world of theater in a supportive and engaging environment. Grounded in our Montessori approach, the camp encourages self-expression, collaboration, and confidence through meaningful, hands-on work. Campers will explore what it takes to bring a production to life, from acting and storytelling to elements of script writing, directing, music, and behind-the-scenes roles like stage crew. Each day is filled with imaginative activities and games that invite children to take risks, try new roles, and discover their unique voice.
The camp is led by Ryan, a former actor with Sight & Sound Theatres, who brings both experience and enthusiasm to the program. With his guidance, children are supported in a warm and encouraging environment where creativity, teamwork, and confidence can flourish.
