The New School of Lancaster

Board of Trustees

The primary focus for the Board of Trustees of The New School of Lancaster is to appoint and oversee The Head of School, who manages the academic and business affairs of the school.  In the course of this duty, the Board of Trustees, in accordance with the mission, the beliefs, and the bylaws set forth, evaluates the performance of the Head of School.

In addition to our primary focus, the Trustees have developed a five-year strategic plan with these goals in mind:

  1. Strong leadership
  2. Improved finances
  3. Improved school presence within the community
  4. Robust enrollment
  5. Staff compensation
  6. Optimizing facility use

Working within the parameters of the Strategic Plan, the Trustees strive to facilitate successful growth of the school and its programs as well as enhancing the overall experiences within the school.

The individuals serving on the Board of Trustees feel strongly that it is the school’s responsibility to keep the parents informed of what is happening at the school.  Board members want to hear what parents have to say.  Board meetings, which generally occur once a month, are open to parents.  Parents are invited to attend meetings and to voice any suggestions or concerns.
